Basics
Variables in PHP:
- always begin with a dollar sign ($)
- start with a letter or underscore (_)
- may contain any number of letters, numbers, and underscores
- are case-sensitive
Examples of Acceptable Variable Names
$var<br /> $_var<br /> $_Var<br /> >$VAR<br /> $VAR_001<br />
