Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.
- I can make specific references to passages and events from a text to prove what the text says directly as well as the meaning I can infer indirectly.
- I can figure out what the text says directly (explicitly), make meaning by asking “why” questions, and find appropriate quotations and references to elements of the plot to support my claims.
