Welcome to the OdleWiki
This wiki is for the use of my friends and colleagues. Anonymous edits and account creation have been disabled. A wiki is a collection of online documents created, edited, and maintained by a group of people working collaboratively. You can read more about what a wiki is here:
- "Wiki" entry on Wikipedia describes the history of wikis.
- The welcome page on Wikipedia gives an idea of how Wikipedia operates. This wiki follows many, but not all, of the same principles.
If you wish to join, please contact me via my contact page. In the "You need to" drop-down menu, select "Join the wiki". Be sure to include an email address which is capable of receiving mail, and to include a first and last name that will identify you to me (i.e., I know who you are). You will receive your login information at that address.
This wiki uses the same software (MediaWiki) that Wikipedia uses. To learn how to edit pages using MediaWiki software, please visit this page.
You may also wish to visit this page on Wikipedia which is more helpful, although some of the information there is specific to Wikipedia, especially with regard to editorial policies.
In all likelihood, you will find this page to be the most helpful of all.
Getting Started
Get started by reading this page.
Then, either start creating content, or look at some current categories or stubs that need help:
Articles by Category
A list of current categories can be found here.
A list of unused categories can be found here. Please feel free to add appropriate pages to these categories. They will automatically move to the ordinary categories page.
A hierarchical list of categories (current and unused) can be found here.
Stubs
A stub is an article that needs a lot of development. You can either read about finding and fixing stubs or you can peruse a list of stubs to see if there are any you would like to work on.
