Ruins of Nauvoo

"Ruins of Nauvoo" is a line in Henry David Thoreau's essay "Walking".

It apparently refers to the ruins of the Mormon Temple in Nauvoo, Illinois, which was first burned by an arsonist in 1848 and then struck by a tornado in 1850.
